Now the spoiler alert here, is that there is no spoiler.
Because in fact, this is a story that we all know….
Have a dream.
Sacrifice everything you can to make that dream happen.
Move wherever necessary to pursue that dream.
Work really hard.
Do what whatever you have to do to make it all happen.
Chisel your talent to the point where you can’t be fucked with.
Land a big unicorn opportunity within your field…… Somehow.
Find some great people to assist you with fulfilling your dreams.
Let all of your hard work and dedication pay you the dividends you deserve.
Get good at playing a specific role and living in the same specific costume for a bit.
Become super successful.
Run.
Run.
Run.
Maximize and capitalize on the success.
Do it all.
Get some luck to work in your favor every now and then.
Try your best to stay outside of the machine, but the machine is well designed, it gets us all.
Realize that the financial health & luxury life that you and your family live are dependent solely on you and your hard work as well as output.
You supply the things.
So, you get back to it all.
Work.
Work.
Work.
You crush it.
Win.
Win.
Win.
Your name is amongst the world everywhere.
Your physical health begins to send you signs that something is going on with you.
You ignore it.
Or maybe you don’t ignore it.
But, you medicate to hide it from the machine, to keep all of work coming in.
Maybe not immediately, but you gradually begin to feel your health ping you with louder notifications.
Do Not Disturb no longer works.
You wonder why the illness amplified faster than the discovery phase?
But you have to be honest with yourself and accept that the discovery phase gave you so much time to address things.
The illness pipes up. It delivers a serious right hook to the face that you can’t shake.
You double down and get the medical assistance you need now.
Unfortunately, you’ve pass the threshold of internal forgiveness and health reconciliation.
The wealth and financial resources are there to pay for whatever will now be your new reality. A blessing beyond measures.
You’ve smashed it in your career so your brand name still carries weight.
Work still comes in, but it looks different now.
You are still respected as you should be.
If you get the proper care and treatment as well as take care of yourself in this new era of life, what a blessing.
If God or whomever or whatever you believe doesn’t call your number, you still get the privilege to live this new life you’ve been granted and blessed with.
We are grateful to still have every moment we can with you.
If the opposite happens.
If you transition on.
If you’re called “home” as they say in church.
I don’t have a follow sentence for that.
I hope we are all taking some time to really be still.
To do all we can to take care of ourselves.
To examine what it is we really want.
How much we really need?
Who do we really need to take care of?
What’s worth the stress?
When do you need to exert your energy? If whatever it is, is really that important.
As I said in the beginning, there are no spoilers here.
We know this story.
Unfortunately, it’s happened to someone close to us.
We’ve read it in the headlines.
It’s fallen on our doorstep from very close proximities.
We’ve lost some of our distance heroes in this fashion.
But still.
It hurts the same to see this.
To read this. To watch this.
And in some ways to live this.
Because at the end of the day I’m always thinking….
What will it take for us to be still?
Or…
At least find small moments frequently to just be still for a moment to frequently examine what’s still worth it.
